Metal Powder Coating

       In the past two years, with the change of market demand and the increase of environmental protection, more and more paints and water-based paint products are changing to powder coatings, so the market demand and varieties of metal powder coatings are rapidly increasing. With the rapid warming of the market, there are many spraying enterprises that have not been exposed to metal powder coating before began to receive more and more metal powder coating orders, but due to the lack of relevant experience and insufficient knowledge of metal powder coating, often inaccurate in the use of the grasp, followed by many problems in the use of the site.

       The biggest difference between metallic powder coatings and ordinary powder coatings is the application of metallic pigments and an additional bonding process (as shown in Figure 1).

       Therefore, the reason why the stability of metal powder coatings is different from ordinary powder coatings is also mainly two aspects: one is the characteristics of the added metal pigments, and the other is the good or bad bonding process.

       Characteristics of metallic pigment: The metallic pigment used in daily use also has many categories and differences, which are divided into three kinds of pigments from categories: aluminum powder, pearl powder and copper gold powder, each of which has its own characteristics. Aluminum powder is divided into floating type and non-floating type, and pearl powder and copper gold powder are also used due to the difference of charged effect, but when choosing these two types of materials as metal pigment, the most used metal pigment in the market is aluminum powder. Bonding process: The good or bad of bonding process also directly affects the effect of using metal powder, simply speaking, the more metal pigment and primer are bonded, the more stable the metal powder coating is, and the better the effect of recycling. The more stable the bonding temperature curve is, the better the bonding effect is. Figure 2 shows the bonding curve.
