The latest wax additive without PTFE, bidding farewell to surface scratches
Paint industry:
CERAFLOU 1050, CERAFLOU 1051, and CERAFLOU 1052: Micro powder wax additives without polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), exhibiting excellent wear resistance and scratch resistance in solvent-free, solvent based, and UV coating systems.
Wax powder mainly plays a role in anti scratch, reducing viscosity, and controlling gloss in ink.
Scratch resistance and abrasion resistance
The particle morphology of wax powder drifts to the surface of the coating during the film formation process and disperses evenly, resulting in the protection of the topmost layer of the coating with wax, thus demonstrating the scratch resistant and scratch resistant characteristics of wax.
Reduce viscosity
Wax powder can reduce the viscosity of ink, thereby improving its fluidity and facilitating the smooth progress of the printing process.
Control gloss
The particle morphology and size of wax powder are similar or slightly larger than the thickness of the ink coating, and are exposed to the outside, which has a small impact on gloss and helps to control gloss.
PTFE wax, among numerous wax powders, has the following characteristics and has been widely used:
one
Excellent wear resistance
two
Chemical inertness
three
High temperature resistance
four
Compared with other wax additives, it has a higher density, so its distribution state in the coating is different
However, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a typical representative of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) substances. Due to their carcinogenicity and significant harm to human health, global restrictions on their use have become increasingly strict in recent years. However, PTFE does possess some desirable properties that harmless raw materials typically do not possess. For example, in the field of wax additives, traditional PTFE based products exhibit excellent wear resistance and scratch resistance.
To this end, Bike Chemical has developed sustainable products for PE/PTFE wax additives - CERAFLOU 1050, CERAFLOU 1051, and CERAFLOU 1052. It can ensure both safe use and excellent application results.
Its characteristics are as follows:
one
Significantly improve wear resistance and scratch resistance
two
Medium intensity smoothness, if a stronger smoothness effect is needed, it can be combined with palm wax or other Bick chemical surface additives
three
Very small particle size and particle size distribution, very suitable for fog sensitive systems
four
Meets food contact standards
