In 2023, China's synthetic rubber import and export trade will achieve dual growth

In 2023, China's import and export trade of synthetic rubber showed a positive growth trend. According to official data, the total import volume of China's main synthetic rubber reached 1.251 million tons from January to December, an increase of 140000 tons compared to the same period in 2022, with a growth rate of up to 13%. This growth reflects the strong demand for synthetic rubber in the domestic market. In addition to synthetic rubber, the import of latex has also received much attention. According to the Carbon Black Industry Network, from January to December 2023, the import volume of synthetic latex in China was 2200000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 7%, showing a steady growth trend. However, at the same time, the import volume of natural rubber latex has declined, totaling 458000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 30%. In addition, the data shows different trends in the import of composite rubber and natural rubber. In 2023, the import volume of composite rubber in China was 52000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 18%, while the import volume of natural rubber reached 2.274 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 15%. At the same time, the import volume of natural rubber and synthetic rubber mixtures also showed an increasing trend, totaling 3.703 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10%.

In terms of exports, China has also achieved significant results. In 2023, the total export volume of main synthetic rubber was 668000 tons, an increase of 173000 tons compared to the same period in 2022, with a growth rate of 35%. This growth rate far exceeds the import growth rate, indicating that the competitiveness of China's synthetic rubber industry in the international market is gradually increasing.
